Parts to build a thermoforming machine

Parts to build a thermoforming machine

(OP)
Hi

Can you give me a break down of the specific parts that would be necessary to construct a fairly small thermoforming machine employing a vacuum? Cost is an important factor and clearity of description of the parts is most wanted.
Also what are they types of plastics most commonly used with the above process?

Thanks.

RE: Parts to build a thermoforming machine

I previously answered your question about home brew thermoforming device.

Now: To materials.

High impact polystyrene is most used. It forms readily, is available in sheet form from many suppliers in many thicknesses. Fairly cheap.

ABS is also used. Not quite as avaiable, more costly.

Polycarbonate is much more difficult to form, much more costly.

I suggest high imact polystyrene.
