How to "wrap" a sketch on a surface fill?
How to "wrap" a sketch on a surface fill?
(OP)
So i'm having a problem with a custom surfboard project i'm working on. I have a sketch i essentially want to "Wrap" on the the bottom side of a surfboard model i have. Because the surface isn't cylindrical, conical....or anything that falls under the "wrap" feature, I'm not too sure how to work around this. If there is any help out there from some experienced users, please let me know.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

RE: How to "wrap" a sketch on a surface fill?
Create a sketch on that plane
Extrude the sketch {Up To Surface[/b]
Offset a surface (say .001") from the bottom side of the surfboard
Use that surface to cut the extrusion

dfukuba, I have encountered this before.
The wrap feature will only work on a cylindrical, conical, or extruded model.
I do something similar to CorBlimeyLimey's suggestion; I create a close approximation of the part I am debossing using revolves or something simple; then I cut the emboss with an offset surface to match the part.
The wrap feature is a little limited, but useful when you can use it. For a surfboard the wrap feature is probably not the way to go.
