Head pipe or main pipe location?

Head pipe or main pipe location?

Head pipe or main pipe location?

(OP)
I´m working in a gas plant design and a co-worker is working with the fire line location, he wants to place the fire pipes in the pipe rack with other pipes.
I was thinking that this piping arrange is not the most secure, because if I have an explosion in a tank, the explosion will destroy the pipe line that is connected to the tanks, so, in this case the pipe rack ( with the fire pipes) will fail.

Is there any paragraph in NFPA 13, NFPA 15 or wich ever NFPA where define the best way to locate the pipes?

RE: Head pipe or main pipe location?

juliomendez,
See NFPA 13,Section 9.1 and NFPA 15,
Section 6.3.2 which refers back to NFPA 13.
