Salt water problem in gas reservoir

Salt water problem in gas reservoir

Dear all,

I'm new in this field and quite amazed about all the knowledge and tips sharing around the world.

I work for an E&P company and we have a lot of problems with our well (mainly gas reservoir) with very high saline water. This causes salt precipitation on the wellbore and scaling effecting the flow and the production performance. Anyone in this field or experienced with this problem would like to share experience with me, please. What to do, What kind of apply technology, Remedial actions etc. etc. I will be appreciated on any good advice and tips ! Please help!

I would like to know also about sand production problem and how to deal with this !

Thanks in advance,

Rommar

SJones,
I was going to recommend that book, but since I wrote one of the chapters I was reluctant.

Thanks,

I will try to look at the literature. I hope this book will give me more practical information and solutions how to deal and handle my problems. I have read something about chemical injections in order to reduce precipitation, but can not realy find what kind of thermodynamic inhibitor to use for these purposes besides preventing hydrates.

Any recommendations and advices are still welcome.

Thanks,

Rommar

Dear all,

There are so many things written in the book mentioned above. My collegae mentioned something with capillairy coil (future) which you can inject remedial inhibitors and decreasing scaling and that is the only potential action at the moment offered by the industry. The book doesnt mentioned about this. Are there more practical literatures or proven examples from other oil companies etc.etc. on this issues (gas wells). Downsizing of tbg or plunger lift would be an option, but still i have my doubts if this will work in horizontal well. Gas lift or injecting inhibitor is very attractive. What about downhole remedial actions? I'm new in this business and at this stage i'm seeking more practical solutions by digging into literatures, papers, networking etc...Please advise !

Thanks in advance !
