Drawing View Creation
Drawing View Creation
(OP)
Can anyone help?
I have created a casting model which has both draft and fillet radii.
When producing a drawing from the model the views are not how I would like them to appear.
please refer to the attachment to relate the following comments.
View 1. 'Tangent Edges Visible' This gives a view that is far to congested.
View 2. 'Tangent Edges with Font' This highlights that some lines are solid edges and some tangent edges.
View 3. 'Tangent Edges Removed' This shows only part of the Double Boss feature I am trying to show.
My question is :- Can I select any tangent edges and change them to solid edges? or is there some other way to achieve a clear drawing view?
Thanking you in advance

RE: Drawing View Creation
I have been evaluating the best solution for us. The following is, at present, we feel the best.
Again I have attached a file to show views of how we resolved the problem. I hope it helps others that may come across the same.
We have 2 configurations in the Model 'Default' and 'Fillets Removed'.
1. 'Default' - Shows all fillets and radii unsuppressed.
2. 'Fillets Removed' - Shows some of the R1 and R3 fillets suppressed.
The drawing orthogonal views are created using the 'Fillets Removed Configuration'. Where as the isometric view uses the 'Default' Configuration. The orthogonal views now have the desired representation.
A note '6' has been added to the drawing to explain the removal of the fillets.
The casting manufacturer can use the Model with 'Default' Configuration to produce the Die.
