Should we go to 2009?
Should we go to 2009?
(OP)
I'm new to this forum, so hello everyone.
I would like to get some feelings about 2009sp2.0
How many people out there are using it and is anyone having problems with it?
We are currently using 2008sp5.0 here, but we have the opportunity to go to 2009sp2.0, but due to no backwards compatibility, we would not be able to go back. We also will not be able to get any more service packs newer than 2.0. should we go to 2009 or not?
Thanks everyone.

If full backups of your files are made and used for the testing, you will be able to go back.

We're still planning on making the move in the next couple of weeks to SW2009 SP2.0 because we're having major crashes in SW2008 SP4.0.
That's it for now, welcome to the forum, and good luck.

From what I've seen with other people's experience, however, you'll want to make sure your hardware is able to cope with the requirements. Have plenty of RAM, use the /3GB switch, and make sure your graphics card (and driver!) are up to the specs at the SW web site.

Essentially, it changes the default memory allocation of Windows--altering the ratio between allocation to the operating system and allocation to the programs you want to run. Since the default of Windows is to allocate half of all RAM to itself--and since Windows really doesn't need, say, 2GB of RAM (unless you're running Vista

It should have read: Windows 32bit (XP atleast) will not recognize 4GB of RAM, even with the machine comes with 4GB installed it only recognizes 3GB.
