Routing flow through infiltration swale with amended soils
Routing flow through infiltration swale with amended soils
(OP)
Hi folks,
In Oregon, we are using amended soil treatment swales for water quality storms to appease the regulators. I am trying to find out if anyone is using routing techniques for infiltartion in a swale with a slope, (not just a pond). These swales have to be designed to have a 9 minute travel time but generally with no more than 3-6 inches of flow depth for the water quality storm.
Is there a way to model a swale (with a longitudinal slope) and look at infiltration (and therefore a reduced runoff hydrograph). Note that the swale cannot assume a level water surface like a pond but would be some sort of "normal" depth.
Thanks,Ed
