Conflicting mesh warnings

Conflicting mesh warnings

Conflicting mesh warnings

(OP)
Dear All,

I am modelling an airship envelope, which requires the use of quite thin shell elements over a curved surface. Now, when I run the shpp, summary command, I get a number of warnings due to warping factor. However, if I run the check command I do not get any error messages, or if I ask to plot all warning elements then I get nothing.

This problem was doubley strange since when I initially meshed the structure I got no warnings, then suddenly they all appeared at once! I originally meshed with shell181 elements and am now remeshing with shell281 (8 node quad) to see if that helps.

So, the question is, do I have shape problems or not, and why do these messages seem to contradict each other? Has anyone else had similar problems?

Many thanks for any help,
Will
