Unrotate global axis in upper geometry

Unrotate global axis in upper geometry

Unrotate global axis in upper geometry

(OP)
Somehow the global axis of an upper product got rotated. I have other products tied in associativity and now Horizontal and Vertical is no longer the same as in the Upper Geometry.

My question is how can I change either the global axis of the upper assembly or change each of the parts to match the upper product?

I have an assembly that I have worked on for months and now it is all messed up. I really could use someones help.

RE: Unrotate global axis in upper geometry

engjeff, i will give it a shot.  when you say upper product i am assuming this is the top product, i will address it as Product A.  You have Sub products B and C.  If your entire assembly is still visually correct but dimensional wrong you could make Product A into an sub product by inserting it into a new Product D.  You could then use the compass to move and rotate Sub Product A back to the correct location.

I need some feedback before I make another suggestion
Do you have constraints between products? Are you designed in context of the assembly - basically a skeleton design?

Derek

RE: Unrotate global axis in upper geometry

Please read this thread, I think this is the same issue going on. You likely need to reset the orientation of your base part. You may also need to re-constrain the children parts.
