Multiple MC users on the the same pc

Multiple MC users on the the same pc

(OP)
I have had MC since 1.1.  I only need very occasional support when MC does not work - rather than how to use.  This has not been a problem until now.

Please could somebody advise:
a) Is possible for MC 14 to be configured such that MC can be used by other users of same PC?
b) Can single user licenses of MC still be installed on 2 machines which used to the case?  Desktop and laptop.  I want to install on 2 laptops.  One of which would either be a backup for when I drop the first one and also to allow my son to do some of his homework using MC.

I emailed PTC but never got a reply – not even to say I needed to pay.  I am reluctant to reinstall MC just to check if I missed this during install.  I ran out licenses and lost use of MC for several days on a previous reinstall!!  (I am a single user).
(I have only ever had MC14 on the same pc).

It is an irony that I am trying to persuade my son to use MC.  Hardly a good advert and not likely to increase the number of MC users.  Maybe it is about time that I started looking for the next competitive upgrade from Maple.

Given the spam level of emails and knock-down price that is being asked for the upgrade to MC14, it might appear that other users are looking for a change as well.

Yes, I am starting to convert my files over to Maxima, actually to wxMaxima which has just had an IDE update.  wxMaxima is a free download and works on PCs, Linux and Macs. wxMaxima does many things much better than Mathcad but Maxima isn't as flashy. More stuff, less fluff.

wxMaxima may not be the change you want.  It has a much different look and feel because it is more text and program based and not at all like a free form math spread sheet. I need the symbolic solutions capability where wxMaxima is relatively stronger.
