Solidworks - Sketch I-Beam

(OP)
I just started using SW and i'm wondering how to add this curve into my sketch. I'm using solidworks 2008.

RE: Solidworks - Sketch I-Beam

1. Search 'Help'.
2. Use "Sketch Fillet" in the 'Sketch' toolbar
3. Use "Fillet" in the 'Features' toolbar.

4. Or, use the toolbox?

I still can't seem to figure it out. I select fillet but all it asks me to enter is a radius, I approve, and nothing happens.

RE: Solidworks - Sketch I-Beam

Select the intersection point of the two lines, or select the two lines.

cheers

RE: Solidworks - Sketch I-Beam

You have three choices:
  1. Add the fillet as a feature (as discussed above)
  2. Add the fillet in the sketch using the sketch fillet tool (enter radius, select corner or two segments)
  3. The hard way: sketch a random arc, trim, dimension, add tangency constraints

Being new to SW, you should work through the SolidWorks Tutorials in the Help section. They cover most of the basic stuff needed to start you in the right direction.

cheers
