what's the type of this relay

what's the type of this relay

what's the type of this relay

(OP)
the relay on the right is a normal relay.
the relay on the left has there terminals.the aux power is always on,and when "on" terminal is powered, the relay is activated.
what's the type of the relay on the left, and what's the difference between them?operate faster?
thanks.

RE: what's the type of this relay

Sounds like a homework problem. Is it a coil, or an SCR?

I've never seen a coil with three inputs, unless the aux power is a tap in the middle of the coil and can only provide holding power once the relay is closed, and needs the 'on' terminal to be powered to close. Then both '+' terminals would need to be turned off to open the relay.

RE: what's the type of this relay

(OP)
no,it's not a homework problem.the relay is used in our powerplant.
Maybe it's not a real coil, just like a electronic relay, not elecmagnetic coil.the aux power is just for working.
when the "on" terminal is powered ,the relay close, and when the "on" terminal power off,the relay open.

RE: what's the type of this relay

That's how an SCR works. If it's a real relay in use, you would have some nameplate info, correct?

RE: what's the type of this relay

Many relays need auxiliary power to operate internal electronics. It can be any type of relay. DanDel's suggestion is good. Give us a photograph of the nameplate. And also of the relay where it is installed.

608/607/609pw is surge protection unit.
624/625/626xr is the relay ,what's the type?and why not use a normal type relay?

RE: what's the type of this relay

It's probably a delay-off relay or something similar which needs power to the internal electronics. The manufacturer MTI is now part of TEC Automatismes. They don't seem to have any information on the older products, but you could email their tech support and ask for a datasheet.
