HVAC Test Procedures

(OP)
All,

I have been tasked with writing test procedures for an HVAC system. I searched the web to find a template or example of an HVAC test procedure, but could not find what I needed. Do any of you have an example or know what should be in an HVAC test procedure?

Also, could someone explain what a 'test procedure' is? My idea is that it's basically describing the steps of powering on and validating that all systems are functioning, but I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated.

RE: HVAC Test Procedures

If you mean "commissioning, testing, and balancing", the best resources I've found are here:  http://www.peci.org/cx_resources.html

Surf that site and see what you can find.

RE: HVAC Test Procedures

Commissioning is a systematic process—beginning in the
design phase, lasting at least one year after project closeout
and including the training of operating staff—of ensuring,
through documented verification, that all building systems
perform interactively according to the documented design
intent and the owner's operational needs.

RE: HVAC Test Procedures

if they have a commissioning authority on the job already, he would probably write the spec for you, you may just have to edit it a bit to suit

Take the "V" out of HVAC and you are left with a HAC(k) job.
