Slot Assembly Mechanism I think?

Slot Assembly Mechanism I think?

Slot Assembly Mechanism I think?

(OP)
I have modeled a breadbox project with a roll top like mechanism for the front. I have connected the slats for the actual roll top with a Pin mechanism. The piece is limited to a 90 degree rotation. Each slat is a little over 1/8".

I have a slot that is curved and is a little less than 1/4" - to allow for good movement when it is actually built. I tried to assemble the slats with the main component using the slot assembly method. I can't get it to align properly or at all really! Does anyone have any ideas as to how this would be able to work? Even some directions towards some tutorials that might help me work through the problem myself would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.
