Problems with SpeedPAK and BOM reporting
Problems with SpeedPAK and BOM reporting
(OP)
Anyone seeing weird issues with the use SpeedPAK assemblies and subassemblies and correct BOM reporting? I have been playing around with SpeedPAK in 2009 SP 2.0 and can't seem to get the drawings and BOMs to work with SpeedPAK. I am getting "*" for the item number in the balloons that connect to subassemblies that are in the SpeedPAK configuration. Also, when creating a SpeedPAK configuration in a subassembly, I notice the view orientation changes in that derived SpeedPAK configuration compared to its parent configuration. Anyone else notice these issues?

RE: Problems with SpeedPAK and BOM reporting
I have the same issues with the * and SpeedPak. Our VAR has sent the issue to SolidWorks. Our VAR said others have the same issue.
I did get the SpeedPak to work in Service Pack 1.0 at the first level, but when I put that subassembly into a top level assembly is where the * would show up.

RE: Problems with SpeedPAK and BOM reporting
Thanks for the confirmation. I have been making posts on the SolidWorks forum - with out much response. I don't know what to make of it... are 2009 users not using SpeedPAK, are there not many 2009 users yet, have they not noticed the BOM issues with SpeedPAK?? To everyone else - STAY AWAY FROM SPEEDPAK until it gets coded correctly. Too many problems for now. Could be really nice if it worked, its just like most things in SolidWorks - they take about 3 or 4 major releases to actually funciton correctly where they can be used reliably and that I would trust my data to.

RE: Problems with SpeedPAK and BOM reporting
SpeedPak will be great once fixed. The assembly I tried it on takes 34 minutes to open the drawing. With SpeedPak it was so quick I could not time it.
