BOM numbering

BOM numbering

BOM numbering

(OP)
I have a drawing comprised of several sub assemblies. When I insert a BOM can I set it to give each sub assembly a seperate number. Currently the BOM does not give the sub assemblies any individual numbers. On the main assembly all I want to do is call out the sub-assemblies and have them tied to the BOM without doing it manually. In solidworks you can specify to list only top level sub assemblies, or, top level sub assemblies and their individual components and you can toggle between each one. Listing the sub ass'y and components is great for creating a bill with all components required to make that ass'y and sent to purchasing, but after doing that I would like to set the bill to list sub assemblis only for my assembly drawing. Can this be done?

RE: BOM numbering

This can't be accomplished in Catia.  One of the many draw backs with catia BOM's.  We have found that we need to move all subassemblies to the bottom of our bill of material and then edit the table to manually add the number.  The balloons will not be linked either.

I was afraid of that. Catia needs to be updated!!!
