I have a .dwg file and would like to convert it to 3D part (.sldrpt). Is there a way to do this in solidworks or by using any converters? please help.

Many Thanks,
Bill

You answered your own question with the last word. "Help" ... there is one in SW, and it explains 2D to 3D conversion quite well.

However, most people redraw DWG files because it is often quicker and more accurate.

cheers

Read solidworks help, you can find this title:

Many thanks for your reply. I will give a try: looks it's better to redraw.
