can`t send output to file

can`t send output to file

can`t send output to file

(OP)
Hi, I am having a problem sending output to a file.
I issue the following commands after solve

/output, resultsfile,dat
prnsol,u
/output

However, instead of directing the displacements to the resultsfile.dat file, they only appear on screen in their own window, as if I simply issued the list command.

If I click on File from the displacement windows menu bar and click Copy to Output, then the data appears in the resultsfile.dat. However, I want to automate this process, so having to manually click Copy to Output every time is not how the help files indicate it should work.

I am using Ansys 10 under Vista.

Thanks

RE: can`t send output to file

Hi engn555
I am using ANSYS v11 under WinXP. The /output command works excelent.

Maybe it is Vista compatibility problem.

RE: can`t send output to file

I am pretty sure the only supported version of Ansys for Vista is v11.0SP1.
