PP properties
PP properties
(OP)
Hi,
Does anyone have data on polypropylene properties (mechanical), such as elastic modulus, stress&strain data... as function of pressure (uniaxial & hydrostatic compression) and temperature. If anyone has somewhere in his/her archives creep data as well, I would be interested.
I am actually developing a structural model and these data would help me to model properly the material, in order to have a good quality input.
Thanks.
Cedric.

By the way, could you suggest me manufacturer names.
Thanks.

A couple of other PP manufacturers to try are Huntsman and BP Amoco. Their websites are included below:
http://www.huntsman.com/polymers/ShowPage.cfm?PageID=996
http://www.bpchemicals.com/polypropylene/
Another place to look for information on PP and glass composites is Saint-Gobain Vetrotex. The product line is called Twintex, and the website is http://www.twintex.com/.
If you are really interested in mechanical property information, and the manufacturers don't want to help you, then you should consider some of the reference books available through the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). One book in particular, Handbook of Polypropylene and Polypropylene Composites sounds like it would be directly applicable. The website link is http://www.4spe.org/bookstore/books/book_9944.htm
