hot tapping

(OP)
A recent post on weldolets got me to thinking about hot tapping.  I am teachng thermodynamics 2 to a class of 70 students and think that it would be nice to stop mid-class for a couple of minutes and talk about something real.  Hot-tapping would be a nice thing to present to get the glazed eyes focusing again.  Can anyone recommend a powerpoint or .pdf or???  that would illustrate the process and hopefully have a couple of cool pictures?  I don't want to spend more than a couple of minutes as a break.  I rummaged around on google and searched the threads here without anything great.  Your help is appreciated.

RE: hot tapping

Hot tap can mean the ability to insert and remove sensors from a pressurised line.

http://www.jiskoot.com/Products/Loop_Extractors/Loop_Extractors.html shows a sampling probe which is "hot tap" i.e. can be inserted and removed from the pipeline under pressure. A number of other instruments such as insertion turbines can be installed and removed in the same way.

If you mean making a new tapping into a pressurised line, sorry, I can't help.
