Microwave amplifier

(OP)
I need to microwave amplfifier to boost the range of a wirless transmission system on the 2.4 Ghz band. I need about 30dbm of power output. Can somebody suggest a good manufactuer ( preferebly in Europe ) so that I can buy one.

One end of the system will be fed from a modulator that already has some power output. WIll that damage the amplifier?

Thanks for your help

RE: Microwave amplifier

Joseph:

I am working on a similar application but in a different band. Examples of what you need can be found at:

http://www.ydi.com/
http://www.rfamplifiers.com/wlanamps.html/
http://www.c-spec.com/pages/prod/amp24i.html
http://www.teletronics.com/tii/products/amplifiers.html

What transceiver is this to be used with? Most or all of the above links are for time division duplex instead of frequency division duplex. Since you are asking for the FCC's maximum transmit power in this band I assume this is an outdoor application, for which multpath conditions are different than a device designed for indoor use - you may want to consider selecting a non-802.11b radio. Let me know if you need more detailed "lessons learned": wrrnsmith@yahoo.ca

RE: Microwave amplifier

Couldn't you just use a better directional antenna.
Being on Malta, I think you keep connection to a single
location.
