Problems saving configs in eDrawings 2008

Problems saving configs in eDrawings 2008

(OP)
In the past, using v2007 I had no problems creating separate configurations of my assemblies by hiding some components and showing others, depending on the configuration.  When I saved to eDrawing format, each configuration looked exactly as it did within SolidWorks.  However, in "upgrading" to v2008, this no longer works.

Have there been any options (or bugs/features) added to v2008 that I might need to know about to get this to work properly?  Maybe something having to do with Display States?  (I see an option in each configuration that says "Link Display States to Configurations"--no idea what that means.)  I never had to mess with this stuff before to get configurations to stay the same in eDrawings as they are in SolidWorks.

Thanks!
