Synchronous Technology Not Behaving

Synchronous Technology Not Behaving

(OP)
Hi people

Please will someone tell me where I'm going wrong with this NX6 part. It was demonstrated to me a few times by Siemens and I've had a go at modelling something similar myself. I pasted body (19) into the model and successfully added symmetry around the YZ plane of DATUM_CSYS (0) followed by a single linear dimension from the YZ plane to one edge which controls the width of the 'pad' whilst maintaining symmetry. However, when I've tried to add a linear dimension from Datum Plane (24) to an edge or even pulling one of the faces, it will not, no matter what I've tried retain symmetry. Even the results tab of the face finder is empty which tells me it has not found the other face.

Please help me as it's driving me insane!!!!!!!3eyes

Best regards

I've just found that if I apply a dimension first, then apply symmetry after, then the relationship will be maintained if I then modify the dimension, but I still can't work out why I can't apply symmetry first.
