I am looking for a private consultant to design an acoustical louver.  Does anyone know of any?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry.  The link is funny though.

Do you mean specify or design.  I don't see why you have to design a new louvre unless you are talking a new product.  There are quite a few suppliers of off-the-shelf acoustical louvres out there which can also be made to fit.

Most louvres are 6" to 12" deep and provide a maximum 12 dB reduction.  If you have low frequency sound or need more than 12 dB reduction, you are going to need a deeper louvre or a custom silencer for the opening.

Looking for a design consultant. It's for a job overseas and the off the shelf ones are a bit to costly for the owner.  Depths are also custom (24" deep).  We are having trouble meeting the specified requirements.  Have had independent labs run ASTM E477 and AMCA 500 tests on samples and they are not meeting performance.   Would like the opinion of a design professional.  Anyone know one worth recommending? Next step would be to contact my local NCAC member.

Might be a bit pricey but you could try Lotus Engineering in  Hethel Norfolk UK, or VIPAC in Australia. If you want an American supplier I'd approach the people who make your sound deadening material, if they can't do it themselves they'll have contacts. You want an industrial noise specialist, not room acoustics.

drillmaggot.

We have lots of experience in specifying proper noise control systems for wide range of applications, but have not done design for an acoustical louver before.  Typically acoustical louvers do not provide substantial noise reduction, and other means of reducing the noise may be necessary.

I'd be happy to discuss this issue with you.  You can find my contact information on our website; my phone extension is 204.
