PH Control

(OP)
Hello to all.

I know that NH4,NaOH,and Amine are used to tower overhead system as neutralizer but I don't exactly understand where NH4 is applied,Amine is applied, NaOH is applied.

Please tell me that where to be applied including the reason.

thanks

RE: PH Control

Amines or NH4 are used to neutralize top PH in topping units such as CDU distillation towers.

NaOH is injected at the outlet of desalter units to transform the easiest hydrolyzed chlorides into  the more difficult ones such as sodium chloride.
