ASTM A370 Clarification

ASTM A370 Clarification

ASTM A370 Clarification

(OP)
Any feedback would be appreciated:

I will be having 6" cold-formed steel studs that will need to undergo tension testing in accordance with ASTM A370.
How can I determine how many studs to test, i.e.) is there a generally accepted percentage to determine a reasonable conclusion?
Also, does ASTM provide allowable deviations from a specified strength? i.e.) If the studs are specified to obtain a 50 KSI yield strength, any specimen not reaching 50.0 exactly fails the whole lot?

I do not see these addressed in ASTM A370...again any feedback would be appreciated.

RE: ASTM A370 Clarification

Look in the front part of A370 at the reference standards.  There is likely one that references sampling and testing in general for such products.  That should give the lot size, percentage, and tolerances.
