Bridge Design

Bridge Design

Bridge Design

(OP)
Hello Everybody,

I have an assignment to design simple bridge with concrete material, T-Section, span 25m using SAP2000 but I still confuse using Bridge design menu in SAP2000. I need some suggestion or tutorial.

Anybody ever have experiences?
Thx

I've watched that tutorial but i still don't understand.
Anyone ever been got the same assignment? The analysis until got the output especially rebar. thx

RE: Bridge Design

Define your Tee frame section specifying that it's a beam for reinforcement and draw it. Use joint restraints or springs to support your span, or alternatively you could model bents in detail. The Define menu has an option for automatic generation of bridge vehicle loads. When you define your lanes, use the offset from your tee centerline and SAP will automatically link it to the frame element with consideration of the offset torsion.

Output will give you influence lines, shears and moments, but no automatic design of rebar unless you're using ACI or other design code included in SAP. No AASHTO design in SAP to my knowledge, only auto generation of bridge live loads. Although I've heard that some bridge design capabilities are coming in a future version.
