Transformer vault near a pool

Transformer vault near a pool

Transformer vault near a pool

(OP)
I want to know if there is some restriction for place a transformer near a pool.  Actually, I've seen a design that considers a distribution transformer, its vault with its protective equipment inside, in an area located few meters from a recreational pool.  Please let me know if there is some normative or technical consideration about this topic (minimal distances, special type of ground grid, etc.). What I think, is that is very dangerous practice to place a transformer near this kind of sites because of the people's risk during an equipment electrical ground fault. Thanks a lot.

RE: Transformer vault near a pool

According to NEC art 680-5: if it is used for underwater fixtures [supply]the transformer shall be approved for the purpose.
According to art 680-21: a transformer enclosure shall be located not less than 4 feet from the inside wall of the pool.
Grounding bonding: according to NEC art 680-22.
If the swimming pool is close to a utility substation or power station the maximum potential rise in case of a ground fault [Touch Potential] shall be not more than permitted [I think 7.2 V for maximum 0.009 A through body current]
