I have a frame made out of 5"X4"X3/16" HSS.  I want to run some load analysis and I want to compare the strenght results if the top X beam is HSS or an Angle beam (all other beams will be HSS).  For this analysis, you need to use the beam mesh, but how does the beam mesh know if the X beam is HSS or angle?  Are the results going to be the same for both cases?  Another option is to use a solid mesh, but that not practical because of the high computation time, and I don't think the results will be as accurate.  Any suggestions?
