Control of variable speed chilled and hot water pumps

Control of variable speed chilled and hot water pumps

(OP)
In talking with local design engineers, I'm told that variable speed chilled/hot water pumps typically control the pump speed to maintain constant system pressure across the building load.  Wouldn't it be simpler to control pump speed to maintain a set delta temperature across the load?  If so, what type of equipment would be needed to accomplish delta T control?  Thanks.

RE: Control of variable speed chilled and hot water pumps

An AMOT temperature control valve would fit the bill.
