Pivoting???

Pivoting???

Pivoting???

(OP)
Hi all,

I am running an analysis and I keep getting a warning saying " Pivoting option activated for Sparse Direct Solver.  The memory
required may greatly exceed predicted amount.  In that event rerun
with increased memory using -m option "

Because of this the solver always runs out of memory.  I am running in a distributed domain and I have plenty of memory but I cannot seem to allocate enough.  When I used the Sparse direct solver I issued the BCSOPTION command to specify memory.  However there is no such command for the Distributed Sparse solver other than DSPOPTION which only specifies in or our of core.

Is there a way to get Ansys to properly predict the memory or can I activate the pivot option before solving so it accounts for that in the memory allocation?

THANKS!
