DFR or TFR

DFR or TFR

(OP)
hi everyone,

for fault recorder equipment, some people call it Digital Fault Recorder DFR while other call it transient fault recorder TFR;

which one is more correct?

RE: DFR or TFR

TFR [Transient Fault Recorder] is not DFR [Disturbance Fault Recorder].
Power Fault Recorder may be provided with TFR or/and DFR. See:
http://www.dewetron.com/applications/power/power-fault-recording/
Disturbance recorder/logger—analyses power system stability by recording reclose sequences, power swing, and frequency oscillations.
Transient fault recorder—post fault analysis to verify protection and circuit breaker operations, fault clearance times. See:
http://www.universitypaton.com.au/TR.htm

RE: DFR or TFR

If is has paper, it isn't a Digital Fault Recorder but it could be a Transient Fault Recorder winky smile

All our recent installations have been DFRs rather than TFRs.
