Handbook error

Handbook error

Handbook error

(OP)
Hi
I have created a mathcad handbook. But I get an error when I load sheets with calculations. When I open the a sheet from the table of contents Mathcad simply shuts down sad

I anybody have an idea or a solution it would be perfect!?

I have created the E-book in Mathcad 14 020, and uploaded it. You have to extract it to ../mathcad/handbook/

I have removed some sheet in the E-book to decrease the size, so if some links dont work don't bother.

RE: Handbook error

Annis,

I downloaded  your sheets.  I extracted the xmcd files from the zip.

I tried it in MathCad 14.020, the main ebook with the table of contents opened up.  Clicking on the hyperlinks did not open the files, a message box popped up saying file not found.  Mathcad did not shut down.

However, when I checked the hyperlink in the files, I found each one had the file name preceded by ./  The dialogue for the hyperlink had the box checked for use relative paths for filenames, I left this box checked because I think this is correct.  I believe that you must maintain the same relative locations for the main file and the items on the table of contentes, for example, keep them all in the same folder.

I removed that and the hyperlinks worked.

I hope this helps.

Thx for the answer chichuck
Unfortunately, this is not the solution to my problem.
I have uploaded a screenshot of the error will try to translate the error message here :

Mathcad Application is stopped working
A problem caused the program stopped working properly. Windows closes the program and notify you if there is a solution to the problem.

Windows does not answer to the problem. I think that it may have something to do with my system. I sit on a computer with Windows Vista x64 system.

RE: Handbook error

Annis,

It appears that you have 2 problems. I agree with Chichuck.  Your incorrect hyperlinks are at least one problem.

The "A problem caused by the program..." seems to be not that unusual for me.  I get the error quite often in similar situations - jumping between applications to find problems and during development.  Fortunately, it does not happen often when I am focused on doing normal work.  Mathcad has been the most unstable application I have had since version 1 in 1986 or thereabouts so stability problems are not a surprise.  Cleaning up and registry cleaners seem to help but they are not bullet proof.  I have just had to re-install 14.020 one function just stopped working.  I thought I was going mad - it was something I had done on auto-pilot for 20 years.
