Pipe shoe welded to a tee

Pipe shoe welded to a tee

(OP)
Hi there,

Is it a good design to weld pipe shoe to a tee? We have a piping design that has a pipe shoe welded to a tee. I personally don't like it since there is turbulence there. But our designer doesn't want to relocate it since it will involve the redesign of structure. Does anybody have experience in this?

Thanks,

RE: Pipe shoe welded to a tee

Can you give more details please,
1,2 or more pipeclamps welded to a tee(mostly 100x100x10)is a normal pipeshoe.

RE: Pipe shoe welded to a tee

If I understand what byou are talking about you intend to weld a normal pipe shoe to a forged tee or a fabricated tee. There are many instances of this detail in the world. You only need to ensure the effects on the tee as regards stress levels are not detremental.
