How to consider a fluid as compressible

How to consider a fluid as compressible

(OP)
Hi all,
Is there any codes or standards to define whether the gas is compressible or incompressible? Thanks.

RE: How to consider a fluid as compressible

The gas is always compressible - we don't need a standard to tell us that fact of truth. It has been compressible from the day No.1 when this universe was created by God.

RE: How to consider a fluid as compressible

However, under certain circumstances, such as piping pressure drop < 10%, the assumption of a incompressible gas provides sufficient accuracy.

llc0612,

Crane's Technical Paper 410 (Google it) is available in U.S. or metric units for sell on the web for a very nominal fee.  It will answer most of your questions.

Good luck,
Latexman
