High-Temp Inspection Camera?

High-Temp Inspection Camera?

High-Temp Inspection Camera?

(OP)
On some of our heavy walled pipe, we're looking for a borescope-style inspection camera that we can snake in through the gamma plug to take a look at our welded root passes.  The problem is that we'd like to be able to do the inspection without pulling off the 400 degree preheat.

We looked into using the Ridgid Micro Explorer which is fantastic if the temperature is brought down, as it can pan, record stills, video, zoom, etc to a USB/micro SD card, but it's continuous operating temperature is good only to 113 degrees.  We're exploring the possibility of wrapping the flex shaft in a heat sleeve and using a heat resistant tape to reduce the exposure of the aluminum camera head, while limiting the time inside the pipe.

Are there any alternative ideas to making this camera work, or any commercially available alternatives that won't cost a small fortune?

Thanks in advance.

RE: High-Temp Inspection Camera?

You should prepare yourself to pay a small fortune - VT systems are expensive.

Cory
