Help on simple gauge checking threaded hole positions

Help on simple gauge checking threaded hole positions

RE: Help on simple gauge checking threaded hole positions

As far as I know this is not a simple task because you have to specify either you want the thread pitch diameter position (which is really what needed) or the inner diameter of the thread which is much easier to check but not very functional.

RE: Help on simple gauge checking threaded hole positions

Unless otherwise specified, dimensions to threaded holes apply to their pitch diameter. This is general rule #3. You needn't specify this if this is your intent, the standard covers it.

Thanks guys, I should have asked you to post replies over on the other thread (I've already upset some users once and got an earlier version of this post RF'd.)

I do want to pick up on the pitch diameter, or an approximation of it which is why I've ruled out using pins on the minor dia'.

KENAT,
