CADWELD and Paint???

CADWELD and Paint???

CADWELD and Paint???

(OP)
I have a Structural Pile that has a corrosion coating and I have instructed the contractor to remove the coating by grinding it to bare steel and CADWELDing to the bare steel.  Can I have the contractor paint over the Cadweld to put back the corrosion resistant properties or is this in violation of the proper grounding technique?

Thanks in advance.

RE: CADWELD and Paint???

Painting over a cadweld would have no effect on its grounding properties. Only make sure the cadweld is inspected for proper weld, prior to concealing it with the paint.

Hopefully the corrosion resistant paint is chemically compatible with the cadweld material.
