Assembly Load Options / DXF Export error

Assembly Load Options / DXF Export error

Assembly Load Options / DXF Export error

(OP)
Hi,

When attempting to export a drawing as a DXF using File>Export>2D Exchange (drawing is referencing a part as master model method) the 'Translating to 2D Part File' dialog box gives the following error:

File ASSEM_OPTIONS ="C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 5.0\UGII\load_options.def" for setting ASSEM_OPTIONS is not readable or does not exist

I'm presuming this is why title block entities make it through to the DXF but no model geometry does, but have no idea why the assembly load options arent being read ok.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Simon

RE: Assembly Load Options / DXF Export error

I do not know if this will help your particular case, but I have had better results exporting it as a DWG from NX, then opening up that file in AutoCad and then saving it as a DXF.

Thanks.  Exporting as a DWG gives the same results (missing model geometry) I'm afraid, which is why I have a feeling it's something to do with the assembly load options, rather than specifically a DXF issue.

RE: Assembly Load Options / DXF Export error

Simon,

I don't use 2D Exchange as I don't think it does a darned thing that is any less regressive than the old CGM method, however there is bound to be a settings button somewhere in the dialogs where you can point it to the correct load options file. I have seen this point raised here before and suspect that it is a similar case as with starting up using the other translators. There will be a settings file possibly a .def that you need alter and overwrite.

Sorry not to be very specific a useful installation isn't always to hand around this time of year.

Cheers

Hudson
