TESTING OF REACH AND ELEMENT CHARACTERISTIC.

(OP)
Hallo guys,
Any one with an idea of how to test the reach and element characteristic of MICOM P442 distance relay from ALSTOM T&D.

Thank you in advance.

RE: TESTING OF REACH AND ELEMENT CHARACTERISTIC.

Micom P442 is now AREVA T&D.
Relevant documentation is available on the web site.

RE: TESTING OF REACH AND ELEMENT CHARACTERISTIC.

Generally one would use a relay test set to make those tests.  Apply currents and voltages along the characteristic.

Hi.
What ZapSib saied and ofcourse David.
Usually Areva have a godd explanation for commissioning procedure.
Best Regards.

RE: TESTING OF REACH AND ELEMENT CHARACTERISTIC.

you need a dynamic test #1.  Also Areva relays are sensitive to step changes in current, which can cause timing errors.  You have to set your fault with DC offset, which better models what AREVA expects and does not confuse the relay.
