Dimesnions for Metric Multi-Vee Pulleys

Dimesnions for Metric Multi-Vee Pulleys

(OP)
Looking to manufacture multi-vee belt pulleys for automotive applications, but I can't find any dimensions to machine the grooves to. The belt that will be used is a metric 4pk890 which is a gates K040350.

Gates offer dimensions for all their imperial size multi-v belts, but nothing metric.

From what i've measured the pitch of the grooves is 3.5mm and approx 55deg.

Does anyone know of a chart where I can find dimensions for the metric belts?

Thanks,
Nigel.

RE: Dimesnions for Metric Multi-Vee Pulleys

The K pitch belts are not necessarily metric. They fall between the J and the L pitch industrial belts. K pitch is 3.56 mm. The 4PK890 is 890 MM pitch length, as well as the K040350 is 35" (889mm) pitch length. The belts are made in mandrel lengths and are slit to size for the number of ribs required.
I beleive Ametric offers sheaves for this pitch. You can also do a search of this site, as this topic pops up occassionally. You may want to switch to a J pitch or L pitch, as these pullies are often available "off the shelf" and do not require any set-up or additional machining costs.
