Logitech mouse center button..use MS drivers
Logitech mouse center button..use MS drivers
(OP)
Hi... for what it is worth.. My MS mouse recently died and I replaced it with a wireless Logitech.. worked good except I could not pan or rotate with the center button (wheel). Spent some time trying to find a solution and gave up.
I installed SW2009 over the holidays and went back to a clean HD image to do it. When I fired up SW I was very pleasantly surprised that now my center button works to pan and rotate. The difference... because I am still using Microsoft(R) IntelliPoint 6.1 drivers

Were you using the Setpoint software for your mouse originally. If so, make sure that you're setting for the middle mouse button is set to "Middle Mouse" I believe it is (mouse is at work, will confirm on Monday). Changing this setting will give you normal mouse functionality back, along with a host of other features.

While I was poking around trying to get my $80 Logitech to work I came across numerous post with the same issue.. there was some mention of an add on to add features to the mouse "Uber.... something" as recall but any link I tried to that product was not working..

Now.. as mentioned in my earlier posts.. it works just fine (with the MS drivers)
I am still in the market for a new mouse as this one is quite heavy.

When you install Setpoint, you must configure the scroll wheel click to act as your middle mouse button. You can also assign scrolling with the wheel to be your zoom. This is possible without using the "uber" plug-in to modify Setpoint.
Note also that you can set up the mouse differently for different applications. So, while I have keyboard shortcuts assigned to almost every button in Solidworks, those don't carry over to other programs since they'd be useless.
Spend a bit of time (10 minutes, tops) with the configuration software and you'll be happy. I hope this is helpful.
