Problems about Spur Gear Profile

Problems about Spur Gear Profile

Problems about Spur Gear Profile

(OP)
Hi everyone!
I made a parametric spur gear on NX6. When I set the Z value to 20 and a value to 25, I face two problems, Extrude and the shape of profile!
Please check it out and tell me where I have gone wrong.
Thanks in advance...

RE: Problems about Spur Gear Profile

I would prefer to model the sketch only one tooth of the gear and control the number of teeth with an inantance and a circular array ... thre are a lot examples for this gear creating technic ... use the search on this forum
I hope it helps

RE: Problems about Spur Gear Profile

Unfortunately I can not open your part in NX3.

But FWIW, I've started designing spur gears using the tutorial below. It took me quite some time before I was successful, though. The gears match other gears I have compared them with, so I expect the tutorial to be correct.

When I was done, I had to split the file into 3 new ones. For gears under 18 teeth (undercut), gears 18 to 41, and 41 and above. Numbers from memory, you'll find the numbers yourself.

Thank you. I already created a video tutorial in NX6, based on that tutorial. Maybe you should check the topic 'Designing parametric Spur Gear'...
