Element equivalent : C eq, Creq, Nieq, Weq, Mneq......what else ?
(OP)
In the field of the metallurgy there many element-equivalent :
For instance :
Ceq is used in the welding
Creq and Nieq in the Staniless Steels
Weq in the tool steels
2 questions :
- I heard about Mn eq ; in what field we use the manganese equivalent ?
- General question : is there another element équivalent ?

Ceq's and Mneq's were used to help determine the tensile strength of open hearth steel. P factors in the equation also.
Ceq's and Mneq's are used to improve the permeability of silicon steels.
