Circular Pattern problem

Circular Pattern problem

Circular Pattern problem

(OP)
My model has 12 holes evenly spaced around its periphery (think of a flying saucer kind of thing). These holes have threads for inserts, and the insert itself has threads. All the threads are true form (helix and sweep a profile). Because the insert is "semi-permanent" I revolved a profile to make it but did not merge it. I want it to show as a separate item.

Now, in trying to pattern this whole mixture I am stopped at the revolved part... I am assuming... due to the error message "Only merged features may be patterned. If appropriate, make a pattern of the bodies instead"

In the Circular Pattern dialog box there is a drop down for "Bodies to Pattern"... but trying to place my revolved part in there does not work.

So..my question is... is my assumption that because I did not merge this part I can not pattern it?... Or is there something else stopping me?

Thanks for your time
Ralph
