Exploded view problems

Exploded view problems

Exploded view problems

(OP)
Hi. I'm using SW2007 & have a couple of issues with an exploded view.
1  The hatching is staying in the original position on the view even though the components are moved by exploding. I've tried altering, deleting & re hatching etc. but to no avail.

2  Some components in the exploded view are shaded even though I have the plain "hidden Lines Removed" option on. I've tried shading then reversing it but that doesn't work either.

Any ideas & a Happy Christmas to you all.

RE: Exploded view problems

Most graphical problems are caused by using a non-approved video card and/or driver.

Which card and driver are you using?

cheers

I think it's an Intel(R) Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family
GMA 300
Memory size 256MB

Doesn't sound too big does it?

RE: Exploded view problems

The video card will be shown at Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adapters.

The Driver Version for the card will be shown by double-clicking the card listed.

cheers

It's 6.14.10.4977, but I'm afraid it doesn't mean a lot to me. I'll have to see if SW recommends this one.

It says there is no later update.
Cheers

RE: Exploded view problems

Is this a laptop? Which make and model?

Which card was listed under the Display Adapters?

cheers

Hi. It's a desktop model HP Compaq 5700.  Intel 2 core 1.86GHz ACPI Multiprocessor PC. The card listed was as my second post. Our IT guy has said he'll get me a new card after Christmas so I suspect they think they are not up to the job anymore.
Happy Christmas

This one?

Make sure your IT guy gets at least an nVidia Quadro FX570 video card and installs the SW approved driver.

Maxing out the RAM wouldn't hurt either, but at least 2GB.

And if you can twist his arm enough, upgrade the processor to the E6400.

Or you could twist both his arms for a new system from http://xicomputer.com/ or similar.

Merry Christmas.

RE: Exploded view problems

GMA 3000 probably, not 300.   GMA= Graphics Media Accelerator, in other words integrated graphics on the motherboard.  As CBL eluded to in his first reply, the problem IS your graphics card (or lack there of).  Your IT person had better get you a real 3D CAD card instead of a 3D gaming card or you will continue to have display/rendering problems when using SolidWorks.
