Hello everyone.

Designing from scratch a proof of concept gas turbine.
Need to find a readily available, off of the shelve high speed, high temperature ball bearing self contained cartridge for the turbine wheel shaft.

Will it be possible to transform a "traditional" oil film turbocharger cartridge into a ceramic ball bearing lower pressure oil lubricated cartridge?

I'm stuck! Please help if you can.

Thanks for the interest.

RE: High speed, high temp. ball bearing self contained cartridge.

Interesting project.  What do you mean by "high" temperature -- how high is high?  It can't be that high if you're planning on oil lubrication.

Hello Jim.

I am assuming somewhere from 105 to 115 Celsius, worst case scenario.
I say "assuming" because it's a prototype based on a redesigned gas turbine ... chances are that the temperatures are going to be lower.
 Thanks Jim
