Anyone know of a Fire Electro/Pneumatic Cuttoff (fusible link?)?

Anyone know of a Fire Electro/Pneumatic Cuttoff (fusible link?)?

(OP)
Hi all,

I have a gate valve that I am testing in order to use it as a fire damper. The valve is air open/air close but it will also close under gravity thus the loss of pneumatic pressure, totally or to the Open connection, would (slowly)close the valve.

I have to electrically link the damper to the fire system so it will close due to the fire alarm but I will also need to put a fusible link on the damper so that it will close if it is physcially exposed to fire.

The link would ideally:

a) Cut off the Open pneumatic feed thereby closing the vlave under gravity AND

b) Switch the valves control solenoid to Close thereby closing the valve, assuming pneumatic supply is still available.

I have the follwoing questions that I hope you may be able to help me with:

1. Does anyone know of a 'link'/thermal switch/cutoff that would be able to do either or both of these things?

2. What other fire related things have I not thought that will need to be considered in the design?

3. Are there any fire standards that I must adhere to?

4. Do fire dampers need to close in a set time?

5. What else have I fogotten?

Thanks for your help.

On your air valve you will need where the closing is mechanically produced, in other words a spring. You can't depend on gravity for this type operation.
If you are look for a fire detector switch there are hundreds out there from the simple link as below to one with programmable input.
You may be best serviced by using the same approach as that used in a dry sprinkler system by dumping the air supply.

For fusible links look at Elsie.
