Insert break on a cylindrical object

Insert break on a cylindrical object

I am trying to create a break on a cylindrical part that will end up looking similar to the jpeg I have attached. I remember this being a standard thing when I was learning drafting techniques, however I am not sure if I can implement it in SW. Any suggestions?

RE: Insert break on a cylindrical object

Sketch your own.  Don't hold your breath waiting for SW to address this issue.  They only "fix" things that AutoCAD users find "nifty".

Dang, I really hoped this would be easier... sad

RE: Insert break on a cylindrical object

The Curve Cut option is the closest SW offers.

However, if you really want that "break" you can create a config in the model which has a cylindrical cut feature passing through the part at 45° ... but that's a lot of unnecessary work for something which should be so simple.

cheers
