Obtaining BOM information

Obtaining BOM information

Obtaining BOM information

(OP)
Hi,

I asked question about the BOMTable:Attach3 and I found out the solution to it.
If I use Excel based BOM table then through VIEW I am able to attach and get the row by row contents of the table.

But I have another question here.
I am getting only name of the part/assembly that is there in drawing. But I am not able to know the type and filename by using name obtained from BOM.
How can I get information about TYPE/Filename associated with each row in BOM.

Also if I have same name for Assembly and part then how can I distinguish whether it is part or assembly merely by looking at name.

Any help of clue will be much appreciated!
If I am wrong at phrasing the question do tell as I am very new to all these things....

Thanks.
Prashant
